New layout. I've added a "splash part" to dispel the effect of the ugly banner. The blue guy is Mike Shinoda, btw. Y'know, from that li'l band, linkin park, whose hell bent on world domination. Thank you pushmeaway for the base pic. The quote this time is from a song by John Mellencamp and India Arie. I still don't know the title, but the song's beautiful.

So what do you think? Give my guestbook some loving, why don't you?

...my next post will be a bad-ass rant about my mother and my sniff F in accounting.

I went to my relatives’ (mother’s side) place last Sunday. I hate going to big family gatherings, because of the fact they could tear you to shreds. Vicious, they can be very vicious when they spew out comments. They think it’s constructive criticism. Yeah, sure, constructive my ass.

So there I was, dreading the imminent, with every heavy step I took, heart pounding, mind concocting an assortment of curse/insults that I can mutter silently in misery.

As I entered, I went straight to the dining room, whilst giving out a few half-meant hi’s and hello’s. They immediately served me with heaping slices of you’re-getting-kinda-fatter-cakes. Ignore, ignore, ignore, this’ll all be over soon.

To my disappointment, my only motivation, the food, sucked. Sure there was some tasty steamed fish and a decent crab dish, but the tastes never consolidated when you eat them. The food didn’t complement each other, and that, for me sucked. Dejectedly, I just ate not-so-crunchy-anymore lumpiang shanghai rolls.

After eating, I skulked in a corner with my cousins. I surveyed the room. Who the hell were these people? I do not know most of them. My cousin told me that my uncle brought his wifey’s relatives. Oh, so that explains the uniform ugly hairstyles of some of the kids and some of the adults.

It seemed that my evasion tactic of skulking in the corner worked, because there were no more comments. The men were too busy drinking and the women were too busy (and high-pitchedly noisy) chatting. Big whoop.

Ooh, lordy.

My mom and I went shopping today ('twas a mallwide sale, read: a LOT of people). We were supposed to shop for little tykes who are/had/will be celebrating/celebrated/celebrating their birthday/baptism, but I somehow elbowed her into buying me some stuff.

First, I snuck in the two Matchbox Twenty albums (which I've been dying to have), at a low, low price of 280 pesos each (around 5 to 6 bucks). Then, er, she bought me boxers. ehe. Moving on. We passed by GBX and I saw this fabulous pair of blue suede shoes with white stitches. Originally it was 3495 pesos (methinks) and we bought it at 1700 pesos! Nice.

So my cousin from the States is here, right? So We bought (Filipino) stuff for them, because, apparently, they miss it. His sister wanted an Aiza Seguerra Karaoke VCD, while he wanted an FPJ VCD. Here's a convo (on the mobile phone) between him and my mother, which resulted in head-turns and maybe a few eyebrow raises from some people. And no, I will not translate it to English, hehe:

Mom: O, andito na yung mga VCD ni FPJ. Ano ba yung gusto mo? Yung kasama si Juday o yung isa na kasama si Sharon?
Cousin: (says something back)
Mom: A, yung "Ese ng Tondo" na lang? Sige, bye.

Jesus Christ, the moment she said Juday, people's heads turned. I kinda scooted away from her vicinty to the "cool VCD's" section, to implicate that, "I do NOT know this woman! No, really, I DON'T!!!"

...a birthday and a baptism to attend on Sunday. I am so not looking forward to the baptism, I am looking forward to the birthday, because the food will be nice. It'll be a kiddie party at Jollibee and I. miss. eating. there. hehe.

I did absolutely NOTHING today. I woke up, ate breakfast, watched a little t.v. then slept on the couch till 1 in the afternoon.

So I'm still doing my design update. Shyeah, I've been saying that for weeks now. I've also sketched the layout for the Theology Department website of my school. Hey, maybe I did something today after all.

Oh, Camille told me yesterday that the guy I'm scoping out (this is another guy by the way) was a total flamer. So I'm happy about that. grin. She got to talk to him and whaddya know, he shares Camille's and my interests. grins wider. She said he could be a potential friend. corners of mouth now near the ears.

So aside from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, the Philippines has also adapted/adopted(?) The Weakest Link. At first I was happy. "Who's gonna be our bitch from hell? Who's gonna be our Anne Robinson?" Turns out it's Edu Manzano. He's okay, but I was really expecting a bitchy host that'll tear the contestants apart for being stupid. He just doesn't have the acid to spew.

Clarissa, I know nothing about PHP. But I suggest you take Web dev as your free elective. hee.

How can I identify with a robot that I don't even know, dammit.

Day 1 of my sem break, I cleaned out my drawers, and I found out that I had a LOT of junk. I always get nostalgic whenever I clean my drawers. I get to see old pictures, letters, gifts...here are some of my interesting stuff:

  • almost 2000 pesos worth of (used up) internet cards
  • I found out that I only have 10 pairs of socks...and some of them are crappy. (Oh yeah, 2 The Grinch slipper socks included)
  • bus tickets
  • a total of 45 pesos in c25, P1, and P5 denominations
  • my old R.O.T.C. stuff
  • old Christmas gifts
  • old Christmas cards
  • Theology handouts
  • the code for my old CS (Java) project
  • pictures of my groupie days (yes, I chased pop groups BACK THEN)
  • pogs!
  • old notebook filler with mopings and bitchings about that straight guy who was my close friend whom I liked in high school (Jesus. The entries were so friggin' corny!)
  • "pop" stuff
  • my Spice Girls stuff...yeah, well, I liked them AT THAT TIME.

I threw out most of my pop stuff. I'm not into that anymore...well except for a few. I couldn't help but laugh at myself for being this "fan", in the truest sense of the word. Also, as I read old entries of my "journal" , I thought to myself, "I was like this in high school? I was such a schmoe! Thank God I'm me now." (Okay so I was thinking of a really good adjective, but the word "schmoe" somehow umbrellas all of it. Just be aware of what you feel when you say "schmoe", and yes, that's close to what I felt like thinking about me in high school.) Anyway, I didn't think I've changed much, but when I went through my old stuff, I changed a LOT! And I'm happy.

I watched Jenny Jones today. All I can say is: oh. my. god. America's crappy talk shows are invading us! what's next? Springer? or those stupid, stupid talk shows featured on Talk Soup? mwaha. cool....hey I didn't say they weren't funny. They're crappy, yes, they're stupid, yes, but it is so nice to laugh AT their crass-"ness".

      1:15 AM

At long last! My very own Linkin Park CD…bought from the U.S.! (My cousin decided to visit after 10 years or so in the States.) Anyhoo, I told him a little white lie that CD’s are cheaper in the States than here. mwaha. I feel a happy little buzz in my head just thinking that the CD’s from the U.S.! Kinda pathetic, I know, but it’s my schtick, let me be.

Now I can give my LP bootleg copy, the “boot”. Geddit? Geddit?! Snark.

Technically, it should be my sem break already, but I still have a philo project and an org commitment all due next week. Jesus. At least I have that evaluation seminar in Subic to look forward to. Oh, and he’ll be there, most definitely.

So, I can’t seem to form a cohesive and profound blog entry right now, so bear with me. Maybe tomorrow, I can gather my wit.

    Okay, a few things...

  • FF YOU SUCK NOW! WHY?!
  • Tis my last day tomorrow.
  • Jesus, let my school win in the whatsketball championship...
  • My cousin from the U.S. arrives tomorrow...I hope he has my Linkin Park CD...and I hope he won't ask me if I have a girlfriend.
  • Survivor 3 pilot tomorrow. Yay Brandon.
  • I have the new site update ready...but I decided to scrap it.
  • I so want to see how Emeril SUCKS! Even Conan O' Brien mocked it relentlessly...and he's from NBC.
